Cut N Clear are specialists in invasive weed control (Japanese Knot weed, Himalayan Balsam and Ragwort). We carry out noxious weed control in various locations across the Midlands with clients ranging from the MOD, to the quarrying industry and private estates. The methods undertaken can vary upon the site and size of weed infestation. We will always generate site specific programmes to suit individual requirements. The methods used range from high pressure spray equipment and to manual knapsack spraying. Japanese Knotweed is regulated by several pieces of legislation, the main being:
The Wildlife and Countryside Act (as amended) 1981
The Environmental Protection Act 1990
The Environmental Protection Regulations 1991
Third party litigation where damages may be sought for allowing Japanese Knotweed to spread onto other properties
This puts a duty of care on the landowner with Japanese Knotweed infestations to be proactive in the control and eradication of it.
Ragwort is another highly invasive plant species which is native to the
UK. Ragwort is covered in the Weeds Act 1959 where you have a duty of
care to control ragwort. It is highly toxic to horses and cattle and can
lead to irreversible liver damage in livestock and humans.
